How do I become a referee?

There are two key steps in becoming a referee:

  • Firstly, you'll need to participate in a course run by Rugby Australia or RugbyWA.

  • Secondly, you'll need to register with your local referee association.

1. Enrol in a referee course

The button below will take you to the RugbyAU referees website, and explain the process to getting on the field.

2. Register with WARURA

Once you've taken a course, you'll subsequently be able to register with WARURA. You'll need to do this to get experience on the field.

Don't worry - we'll supply you with a whislte, red and yellow cards, and coaching and mentoring to get you going!

The same link that takes you to the courses will direct you to registering for 'WA Referees'.
